Store Bought Products Can’t Cure Bacterial Vaginosis

Common yeast (Candida) infection products which are available at many pharmacies are mistakenly used every day by undiagnosed women who think they’re going through just another typical yeast infection. The problem is that sometimes women have Bacterial Vaginosis, also known as BV, and this cannot be cured by anti-fungal creams, ointments, tablets or suppositories. Vaginosis, also referred to as Vaginitis, is the infection and inflammation of the vagina. This is different from a yeast infection and should be treated with topical and/or oral antibiotics. There are many name brand and generic medications alike that can provide effective relief and manage BV. Metronidazole, Clindamycin, Tinizadole and Acetic Acid are the generic names of the medications which affect the bad bacteria directly, allowing good flora (bacteria) to bloom and the symptoms to disappear.

Vandazole, Flagyl ER, Clindamax, Clindesse, MetroGel-Vaginal/MetroGel Vaginal, Metro, Relagard, Tindamax, Cleocin HCl, Cleocin, Cleocin Phosphate, Cleocin Vaginal, Fem pH, and Acid Jelly are name-brand pharmaceuticals which target the imbalance with anti-infective properties, amebicides and miscellaneous antibiotics. Recurring yeast infections and BV alike can be prevented using natural methods and simple lifestyle changes. Diet, hygiene and activities can be monitored to keep you healthy and balanced. Naturopathic doctors have long ago discovered that the vagina has an ecosystem based on good and bad bacteria being present. A gynecologist can test the pH level of vaginal secretions as well as do a “clue cell” test to determine whether you have BV (a.k.a. Gardnerella.) It has been documented that up to 50% of all women who have had BV will have a relapse and secondary bout within a year of their first infection. This is why women must take any symptoms seriously and be responsible about their bodies for their health. Women who aren’t asymptomatic experience discharge, burning and/or itching with both issues.

However, with Vaginitis, a tender cervix, backache and/or pelvic cramping as well as fever (in some instances) accompany those problems. This is why if you go to a pharmacy, buy and try every product they have, it won’t cure you if you aren’t seen by a doctor and have a culture done to determine what is wrong to receive the proper remedy. It can take longer to get better if you’re stubborn or scared about seeing a Gynecologist. BV is contagious and can be caused by several different germs including staphylococci/staph, streptococci/strep, Escherichia coli/E-coli or Mycoplasma. Certain STDs also have similar symptoms to both Candida and Gardnerella. There are modern cures for these diseases that can be prescribed and you can be well within a week’s time. A physician can focus on helping you to do what’s best for your reproductive system. There are many intelligent and educated people who are medical professionals waiting to assist you. All you have to do is pick up a phone and call.
